Cirque Jacqueline at Provincetown Art House in August

Producer Curt Richardson has announced that Cirque Jacqueline, Andrea Reese’s acclaimed one-woman play that was first seen in August, 2005, will return to Provincetown in a limited engagement from August 21-27, 2006 at The Art House, a new 120-seat theater located at 214 Commercial Street.

New Provincetown Players holds auditions for May theater performances

Auditions for The New Provincetown Players, “Spending the Weekend with Eugene and Tennessee,” six short plays by Eugene O’Neill and Tennessee Williams on March 18 at 1 p.m., at The Provincetown Theater, 238 Bradford St.

The six plays are: “Recklessness, Before Breakfast, The Rope” by Eugene O’Neill, directed by Noel Carmichael; “These are the Stairs You Got to Watch, And Tell Sad Stories of the Death of Queens, Summer by the Lake” by Tennesee Williams, directed by Patrick Falco.

Needed are actors of all ages, male and female, teens to 60’s and 70’s.…

Stage actors are sometimes told to picture the audience in their unmentionables as a way to quell nerves. One look at yesterday’s bevy of bare-bottomed Provincetown Theater-goers would likely have the opposite effect.

Awkwardness was as scarce as clothing for 15 Lower Cape residents who posed for a tastefully nude calendar to raise money for The New Provincetown Players, a local group of community thespians. Talk about some serious theater buffs.
